Where can I study and what are the advantages?

Café culture: If you like being around people and find background noise helps you focus, perhaps studying in a café or canteen would benefit you.
Most offer free wifi, which could be helpful if you need to go online.
The disadvantage is that the café owners may prefer that you buy things if you wish to stay. This could get expensive!

Library: The college or sixth form library or even your town library should offer a quieter studying environment, which may benefit you if you prefer to study in silence. Most will offer internet access and a good selection of books to with your studies.
The disadvantage is that you normally have to book computers to ensure access and somebody may already be using the books you need. Access may also be limited to during school or business hours, so this study area is not ideal for late night

Home: Depending on your home, this could be noisy or quiet. If you plan to study at home, ensure that you have a desk or table with good lighting and a comfortable chair. The main disadvantage of working at home is the many distractions such as the television and phone.

Common room: This may be a good place to study if you like to have people around you and find that background noise helps you to study.
The disadvantage is that you may bump into friends and get distracted.
